In our fast-paced world, I've learned to approach art as I approach life, with great admiration for all things low-tech, with controlled but loose reins, and with a pinch of mirth for good measure. Honouring the ancient art of felt-making has been a grounding and humbling experience. Its slow manual process of layering, rolling and sculpting is a lengthy meditative and physical journey, reconnecting me to the past and the natural world, while allowing the opportunity to create and play.

For environmental and aesthetic reasons, wool is the medium I am most excited to sculpt. It is sustainable, insulating, fire-retarding, moisture-wicking, sound absorbing, compostable, malleable, and has limitless creative potential. Over the past century, wool has been gradually devalued, overlooked, and replaced by synthetic fibers shedding nanoplastics into our waterways and bloodstreams. Knowing wool's intrinsic value drives my passion and inspiration. My creations are an attempt to balance traditional felt-making practices, the natural world, and a bit of whimsy.
